Fan as a statement piece: the accessory that's back in style

Abanico como statement piece: el accesorio que vuelve a estar de moda

Hoooot, hoooot, hooooot.

The summer of 2026 has started with a bang. In June alone, temperatures exceeded 32ºC in several parts of Europe and, before the month was out, the first heatwave already had us searching for shade... or a fan.

And the curious thing is that it wasn't a surprise to see them out on the street again.

This summer, fans have reappeared with force as a resource against the heat, as an accessory, and, what makes us happiest, as an extension of personal style. We like to think (and hopefully we're not wrong) that they are part of a small return to the essentials: useful, beautiful, and durable objects.

When we started ràfega, one of the most repeated questions from our circle was always the same: "Who buys fans nowadays?" "Isn't it too traditional?" "Are they only used in summer?"

These weren't easy questions to hear, but they were important. They forced us to refine our proposal, to better think about our designs, and, above all, to rethink how to make an object so linked to tradition reconnect with a new generation.

We also knew one thing from the beginning: the fan could not continue to be a purely seasonal product. Heat no longer understands calendars. Summers are longer, more intense, and more frequent. And in that context, the idea of a sustainable, reusable, and durable object makes even more sense.

In the last two years, we have seen how, little by little, the fan has been recovering its space. Not only thanks to brands like ràfega, but also to the impulse of other artisan firms, many of them affected by the DANA in Valencia, who have kept this craft alive.

And something even more interesting: fashion has also embraced it again. Today, the fan appears on runways, in editorials, and in summer collections as an unexpected, yet increasingly natural, accessory. A functional object that, at the same time, has an aesthetic presence.

Because that's the key: the fan is no longer just an object to combat the heat. It is a gesture, a style, an identity.

And the best part is that it works with everything. In a summer where the heat gives no respite, perhaps it's not that the fan has come back into fashion, but that it never stopped making sense.

We invite you to see all our models.
