Abanico Mariposa
To compile a collection about the Colombian Caribbean without paying homage to its greatest literary exponent, Gabriel García Márquez, would have been an unforgivable mistake. His most iconic symbol, the yellow butterflies , represents the mystery that transformed this region into a universal stage for magical realism. For the writer from Aracataca, nothing he wrote was pure imagination, but rather the poetic transmutation of the Caribbean reality that surrounded him.
This fan has precisely that purpose: to ensure that whoever carries it carries magic and never goes unnoticed. Its yellow color radiates joy and energy, making it the perfect accessory for daring people, lovers of culture and craftsmanship. Delicate carved butterflies adorn its ribs, giving this unique piece its name and character.
All our fans are handcrafted with the highest quality by families with decades of experience in the fan-making industry. Each piece bears the AEA 'Spanish Artisan Fan' seal, certifying its manufacture in Spain (engraved on the outer ribs of the product). We are dedicated to creating designs that combine elegance, tradition, and originality, offering unique pieces for every occasion.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an artisan fan?
There are three things that we consider must happen to consider a fan an artisan product:
1) The product must be handmade, without using machinery or automation. The manual contribution of the craftsman must be the main component of the product.
2) The product must have tradition and history. It is important to highlight and respect the work of expert families who have been in the business for decades.
3) Each product must be unique. No two rafega fans will ever be identical.
Where are our fans made?
Our fans are made in Spain. We work with families in the Valencian community who have been dedicated to the sector for several generations.
What is the AEA seal?
The AEA seal certifies the fan as a high-quality product made in Spain. All Ràfega fans have this seal engraved on one of their ribs.
What type of wood do we use in our fans?
We use Mongoy/Ovangkol wood. This wood comes from tropical areas and is characterized by its beautiful color and flexibility. It is a unique wood that is not usually found in other types of fans.
Are our fans sustainable?
Our fans are 100% recyclable. The fan is made of wood, 100% cotton, and a metal ring. We consider the fan a form of green energy.
